As a steering committee member of the All Copays Count Coalition (ACCC), IDF and 85 other organizations sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra in support of the U.S. District Court's decision rolling back the 2021 Notice of Benefits and Payment Parameters (NBPP), which allowed commercial market health plans to implement widespread copay accumulator policies.
The letter also asked HHS not to appeal the decision and to immediately issue guidance to health insurance companies noting that they must comply with the 2020 NBPP, which states that copay accumulators can only be used for medications that have generic alternatives.
